4M Wins Triple Honours at HKAI 2016
AR Wonder: Dinosaur DNA has proven to be one of the biggest hits in 2016, most recently winning in three categories at the HKAI; including Consumer Product Design, Innovation and Creativity, and Technological Achievement.
The HKAI awards encompass seven product categories, and we are proud to say that 4M’s AR Wonder: Dinosaur DNA is the first product to ever win in three HKAI categories in a single year; an unprecedented honour for an unprecedented toy.
Launched in the spring of 2016, AR Wonder: Dinosaur DNA combines our popular Dig-a-Dinosaur series with Augmented Reality technology. Children excavate and assemble their dinosaur skeleton, then scan special DNA Stickers into their smartphone or device through the Dino Codes App, and, like 21st century magic, the dinosaur comes to life on-screen in beautifully rendered detail. The Dino Codes App is social media friendly, allowing for easy sharing of photos and video with other dinosaur enthusiasts, as well as containing loads of interesting dino-facts. By incorporating AR technology with traditional hands-on excavation and assembly, Dinosaur DNA engages children’s minds on multiple levels within the STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts and math) framework.
AR Wonder: Dinosaur DNA was an instant international success with industry delegates and media. As one of the hottest toys released in recent years, it quickly garnered two prestigious industry awards; a Silver A’ from A’ Design Award & Competition, and an elusive Gold Award from the Hong Kong Smart Gifts Design Awards.
